Crazy World

I picked up my pen
To write a letter to a friend of mine,
Things are hard for all of us
But I heard she's having such a bad time.
I thought maybe I could ease the pain
Make it better in some small way,
Before I could write a single word
I broke down inside and all I could say, was
Hey, how are you, I hope you're doing okay
And isn't this a crazy world we're living in
Isn't this a crazy world we're living in.
When this is all done, and we can walk together again
Do you think we'll remember how we treated everyone as a friend
When an act of kindness could bring a tear
An act of bravery we could all cheer
When we were too tired to go another day
And it meant something when someone would say
Hey, how are you, I hope you're doing okay
Isn't this a crazy world we're living in
Hey how are you, I hope you're doing okay
Isn't this a crazy world we're living in
Yeah isn't this a crazy world we're living in
Yeah isn't this a crazy world we're living in

STORM IN THE HILLS
I've been living up here in the back of beyond
It's been twenty long years since I've seen anyone
It didn't snow last winter, didn't rain at all last fall
So I come back down to see what in the hell's been going on.
As I came into town could not believe my eyes
They got a brand new meaning for the word high rise
Redwoods are tall but these buildings are so darned high
What's gone wrong with the ground make everyone wanna touch the sky?
Seen a fancy little gadget called a mobile phone
It doesn't ring when you're called, it plays a hit tune
People use them when they're out and when they're in at home
Got me to wondering why everyone's so scared of being alone
Thunder on the mountain, storm in the hills
Fighting in the valley, there's a killing in the alley
And if you stop to take a breath you might catch a glimpse of what you're running from.
Picked up a newspaper, read the headlines
The world's hotting up, give us a bad old time
Well I could scarcely believe it but everybody tells me it's true
Well I never did but now I gotta worry what the Chinese do.
I read about lies and sleaze and something called spin
A way of explaining the mess that it's in
A brand new word invented by a politician
If you don't mean what you say, how can you say what you mean
Thunder on the mountain, storm in the hills
Fighting in the valley, another killing in the alley
And if you stop to take a breath you might catch a glimpse of what you're running from.
Well it's gotta be me or you, hell yes everyone
Someone's got to do it 'cos it's gotta be done
The way that we're living is killing and the dying's just begun.
And if you stop to take a breath you might catch a glimpse of what you're running from.
Gonna play some guitar!

Brinsley Schwarz London, UK
It’s not everyday a band takes on the eponym of their lead guitarist. A London-based pop outfit evolved into what would
become pub-rock legends Brinsley Schwarz.
Remembered for their iconic performances and forging the foundations of London’s pub-rock scene, the Brinsleys brewed up a storm throughout the early 70s, with opening slots for the likes of Paul McCartney
